LET THE BASICS BE ENOUGH
"Creating a life that restores you and not drains you." - Olivia Unplugged
GOOD MORNING SUNDAY!
If you are reading this welcome to Sunday Edit where we are cultivating a life that brings the Sunday magic into everyday.
As I always say Sunday Edit is more than a lifestyle brand but a deep fulfilled feeling letting the basics be enough.
Cultivating a life that restores us and does not drain us.
Sounds simple huh? Well as Olivia says we are all feeling this, you are not alone.
Teetering the line between addicted to daily dopamine hits while simultaneously craving a slow life.
After watching this Titkok video it all made sense in my mind, body, and heart!
I have a small addiction to social media and my phone and it’s always a work in progress. I recently deleted all social media off my phone and only have access to my Instagram and TikTok on my iPad.
So if I’m home I am able to access it, but when I am out and about I am genuinely present with whatever I am doing.
This small change has made a HUGE change in my life. I really don’t crave that dopamine anymore.
The days or moments I do crave social media it’s typically because I am avoiding something deep down. A new cue I have been able to observe and take notice, but don’t feel the need to take action.
The days I am busy cleaning my space, attending to my work, moving my body, partaking in my hobbies, I feel my absolute best.
The days I find myself on social media too much I notice how drained I feel.
It’s taking notice of the things that are restoring me and not draining me
SUNDAY MOOD BOARD:

"Autumn exists to remind us that things must end to begin again"
These past couple years have been so life changing but in the hardest way possible.
Myself and John have come face to face with so many battles.
Many that drain us.
Taking over every aspect of our lives.
But as I sit and reflect I am beyond grateful.
My biggest motto is find the things you don’t like, remove them, to make space for things you do like and enjoy.
You may not know what those things may be, but God does!
The joy we can feel when we feel those little nudges from God to explore something new can be terrifying.
But then that “thing” ends up becoming something you had no idea you needed to bring into your life.
I am in that in between season of life: being in a healthy happy relationship, working towards our goals, while praying over our future family and life.
As much as I crave the chaos of kids and marriage I am so beyond content with waiting.
Knowing this season of life is limited is what keeps me grounded in a busy world.
Knowing I am exactly where I need to be.
Amongst all the adversity in life, in our world, letting the basics be enough is what I always come back to.
What are some of the basic?

Cooking a yummy feel good meal
Gardening
Cleaning your space
Listening to feel good music
Taking the scenic route
Spending time with loved ones
Dancing in the kitchen
Your favorite morning mug
Morning sunlight
Putting on your favorite perfume
Daily walks
Being bored
Laying out on the grass
